Christopher B. Mills, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers. Dr. Mills is a board certified surgeon with a clinical practice in the Breast Center at St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center (SVCCC), New York, NY. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery for New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY.
Dr. Mills has been affiliated with St. Vincent’s Hospital-Manhattan for over thirty years. Following the completion of his training in surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital, and a Fellowship in Surgical Nutrition at Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago in 1978, he became a member of the Department of Surgery. Since joining the staff he has been intimately involved in academic, clinical and administrative activities, gaining increasing levels of responsibilities in each. This culminated in his appointment as Chairman of the Department of Surgery in 2006.
He has been listed on several occasions as one of the “Best Doctors in New York,” by New York Magazine and in “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area,&dquo; by Castle Connolly. In addition, he was nominated by the Consumer Research Council of America as one of “America’s Top Surgeons” in the field of Breast Surgery in 2003.
Dr. Mills is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.), and he holds memberships in the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Medical Society of the State of New York, New York Academy of Medicine, and others.
Dr. Mills has a strong interest in all aspects of diseases of the breast and is an advocate of the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to breast cancer management in order to offer patients the best opportunity for a favorable outcome. |
